This Saturday at Fletcher's Fields in Markham, Ontario, The Ontario Men's Rugby Championships will take place as teams vie for their respective titles. 4 Ontario Universities and 4 Colleges did battle over the past few weeks and have determined the gold and bronze medal games for each division. In the first semi-final for the College (OCAA) division, Mohawk's offense powered them over Seneca 42-17, while in the other semi, Humber's steady play continued as they held off a surging Trent squad by a score of 20-7. The semi final results set-up the bronze medal game, which promises to be a close one, when Trent and Seneca do battle. Trent took the season series 2-0, but only by scores of 8-5 and 10-3. The gold medal game has Mohawk up against Humber in which will end up being quite the championship game, both squads finished with identical 6-1 records, which had the teams share the regular season's best record's, however the teams split the season long series with one win a piece. Mohawk will look to dethrone the defending champions on the pitch at 12:00 p.m Saturday. In the University (OUA) semi-finals held two weeks ago, number one ranked Queens University got by McMaster University by a score of 17-8, while in the other match-up, The University of Western entered the championship game with a dominating performance over Brock University by a score of 24-3. Saturday's Bronze medal match puts the Badgers of Brock up against the Marauders of McMaster. This will be the team's second meeting of the season, as Brock took the first match-up of the season, 34-13.
